I had the 4.8 V8 mated to the six speed auto in my X5 & i didnt think the gearbox was that great tbh a little slow to react at times, it was ok in manual mode autos & twin clutches are far in front, it would be worth a drive of one to see what you think, i do really like the V8 6 series, alot of motor for the money.
