I am thinking of getting a D600. I plan to use older Nikon lenses on it with manual focus. Can anyone here comment on the ease of manual focus on D600 using VF and/or live view. Does the Nikon focus indicator work and how precise is it? Mar 09, 2014 at 07:26 AM
29 Oct 2013 I've been using older manual focus lenses on my new Nikon camera a while, and I've come to learn a trick or two that makes life a bit easier. 1. Focus confirmation It's not always easy to tell just by looking through the viewfinder, if your subjects are in focus. However, you can actually use
18 Mar 2014 Focus confirmation does indeed work. I have a D7000 (which is ergonomically very similar to a D600 - think of a D600 as a D7000 with an upgraded sensor) and have been using a Nikon 80-200mm f/4.5 AI on it perfectly fine. Except for the SB-400, most Nikon speedlight flashes provide independent AF assist using a red light pattern.

6 Dec 2013 Most of my lenses are manual. Nikon D600 + Fujinon 50mm F1.2 EBC + grip. In short you can think a manual focus lens (with the chip on it) as an AF lens without the motor. D600 + Tokina 28mm f2.8 MF Or to think that the motor is your hand ;) D600 + Fujinon 200mm f4.5. I also change the focusing screen

Third-party Focus Assist Accessories. There are a variety of accessories made by third-party companies that help you focus the HDSLR when shooting video. One of these is the Loupe or Finder. A Loupe attaches to the camera, covering the LCD so you can bring the camera to your eye as if you were using the viewfinder to
AF-A first does a "single" focus, then if the subject moves a sufficient amount, it goes into continuous mode. The major difference is AF-A will allow your camera to use it's built-in AF assist light, which can be really handy in low light. Hope this helps. EDITone major blunder#4 is all about autofocus, not
