In the south of France, former special-ops mercenary Frank Martin enters into a game of chess with a femme-fatale and her three sidekicks who are looking for revenge against a sinister Russian kingpin.
In the south of France, black Ops mercenary Frank Martin is leading a quiet life, living with his father. He gets illegally hired by 3 mysterious women who force him to be the getaway driver for them robbing a bank. Soon he finds the bank they hit was that of a powerful Russian Kingpin who has his father as hostage. Frank must figure out what is going on, clear his name and save his father.
The Transporter, Frank Martin (Ed Skrein), is hired by prostitutes who want revenge on the people who put them into this profession at earlier ages. To insure his cooperation, they kidnap Frank's father, Frank Sr (Ray Stevenson).
Some people believe that these Transporter movies are really ads for the Audi cars as they are the only ones Frank drives. (Hmmm
.never thought of it that way)
Anyway Frank agrees and off he goes driving away from the Police, and not the bad guys this time. The action scenes during these chases are simply spectacular, and as we watch we can be heard exclaiming quite loudly, "Ouch, Ouch, Ouch" Yes, the car stunts are every bit of what we expect from a Transporter movie. Kudos.
Now how does Ed Skrein stack up against the original Transporter: Jason Statham? Actually, quite good although his voice is somewhat heavy, at times, and there is a need to rewind asking ourselves, "Whadeesay?" But Skrein has all the fighting moves so he is forgiven.
A downside is still something Hollywood has never learned when a machine gun cannot hit its target at close range, but we need the heroes to get away so we don't make too much of an issue with this. Still

I suppose comic relief is intended when Frank and Frank Sr. banter about this and that and the dialogues could have been much better. Kind of awkward the way they are presented, but this doesn't last too long and we need to get back into the Audi. See?
This is a chase movie and that is why we watch all Transporter shows. In the Statham movies, the rules set by Frank were more pronounced and never broken. Here some rules are broken especially the one when Frank doesn't answer his phone while driving. He does later on.
The prime rule is that Frank never asks what the package is or what is in the package if in a box or some such. He doesn't want to know in order to provide unintended deniability. If you are familiar with the Transporter TV show (not on now) we see that Frank (Chris Vance) NOW needs to know what the package is to be sure there is no bomb in the container. Just a little trivia for you to ponder.
Production-wise all is good. The cinematography, photography, and pacing are all very good . And, don't forget about the Editing, which is spot on. The acting performances by all are good too.
Now, what does an Audi go for? (7/10)
Violence: Yes. Sex: No. Nudity: No. Language: One F-bomb and brief small stuff at times.
Most off you are right, it is a great action movie which is filled with action and a reasonably good storyline. But as a petrol head i hate this movie, from the moment he first drove away from the cops. Like are you F***** KIDDING ME??? A Renault, Peugeot, Citroen is able to keep up with an Audi s8, even when you see the Audi shifting back a gear and driving over 200 km/h the police is still able to keep up. Believe me if an Audi s8 putts the gas pedal to the floor there is no way in hell you will be able to keep up with it in your st*pid family car. It really did p*ss me off but once I let that go I still managed to enjoy myself and just see the movie for what it is. An movie filled to the roof with no need to think action. So if you are not a movie critic and you like action movies then you should go and see this movie.
The titular Transporter is now but a blank slate serving the characters and mayhem surrounding him, a walking metaphor for a franchise that's run out of gas.
