Fueled by remorse and vengeance, a high schooler named Terry McGinnis revives the role of Batman. Under supervision of an elderly Bruce Wayne, he fights crime in a harsh futuristic Gotham.
At least 40 years after the "current" adventures of Batman and 20 years after Bruce Wayne retired from the role, his secret is discovered by troubled teen Terry McGinnis. After McGinnis' father is murdered by the man who took over Bruce Wayne's company, McGinnis dons a high-tech Bat suit that Wayne last used, creating a new hero for a future Gotham.
I really liked this series, although I do wish they had tied in a bit more of the old Batman mystique. The series can and does stand, though. There did seem to be a "villain of the week" quality to it, but Terry was a fun addition to the Batman lore. Try it, you'll like it.
This show is awesome! It's not as good as the original though but it is much more entertaining than the second show. I really liked this show even though it doesn't have to do with any of the Batman story lines. It kind of runs into the same category as "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller which has to do with what might happen in the future of Batman.
"Batman Beyond" takes place about 40 years after the "New Batman Adventures" series. At the time of the show's release a precise date was given as 2039. Meaning Bruce Wayne quit being Batman in 2019 (as seen in ''Rebirth''). This also means the episode, ''Epilogue'' takes place in the year 2054. a5c7b9f00b
