30 Dec 2013 Is the Contax G2 in the same league as the Hexar AF, in AF alone? I've had the I've had the Hexar AF and I had no complaints, but I'm thinking of getting a G2 because of the higher top shutter speed and the 45mm lens (I prefer 45mm-50mm over 35mm). Also, you can manually focus the G cameras.
To make a Konica Hexar RF, all you do is: Start with a Contax G2 body. Replace the lens mount, viewfinder and rangefinder with any manual-focus Leica lens mount and rangefinder made since 1980. Thus we have the Konica Hexar RF, which is a more cheaply made version of the cameras from which it is copied.
1 Nov 2016 The Konica Hexar AF (they have a manual focus one), is sort of a point and shoot because it's fast, fits in your pocket and is not large and heavy. But not really. If I were to make direct comparisons, it would be with the Contax G1/G2,or even a Leica M.

To switch back to autofocus, hold the MF button down for a second; the LCD displays "AF" and the lens rotates back to its AF position. Manually focussing the Hexar is not nearly as fast, convenient, nor pleasant as with a Leica M6, or perhaps even a Contax G1. I solved the problem by getting a Contax G2 lens cap.
