Malkovich was a very temperamental child that called his first grade teacher "a mother fucker" and a "cocksucker" then walked out of the school after losing an Easter egg hunt. His father beat his ass for 6 hours after that.
His family would lock him out of the house when he was in a bad mood and shout out at the window "Mad dog, mad dog, mad dog!" but that's not to say he had a bad childhood. Not at all. Danny has mentioned that he tends to blame him for a lot of stuff including an incident where Malkovich lost his front tooth and blamed him (UK Sunday times 00). He says Malkovich was easily riled up so they'd entertain themselves making him upset.
