Yes the sommerfeldt guide is very useful as the picture are self explanatory. I made myself a jig that was the same width as the smallest pantograph and could be slid along the rails to check the catenary was always between the rails. I approximated the masts positions by laying the wires along the track.

Which I had no idea and thought they would all be in English I feel stuck in reference to having to assemble the kits I ordered. I have just received the Sommerfeldt instruction book, and I must say that it is far clearer (and less expensive) than the Viessmann book.
