23 Apr 2001 Apparently the Japanese version of Legend of Mana had weapons and armors with higher attack and defense. Just in number, though. For example, an Ishe Platinum Spear in the Japanese version had an attack power of 56. In the U.S. version an Ishe Platinum Spear has an attack power of 45. However

Forging and tempering weapons and armor is the only way to get the best equipment. Blacksmithing is also a complicated and flexible system that is very easy to screw up. Below are some pointers that help out with the creation system which includes tempering, forging, and how to add spirit powers to your equipment.
haven't heard of it, Legend of Mana has a "tempering" system (basically some crafting/enchanting) system which seems to be incredibly complex and allows the player to come up with their own recipes. The best info I've found on it is here: www.gamefaqs.com/ps/256525-legend-of-mana/faqs/10806.
