==============================
I am going home in 8 days before exams and I dont know if I will ever want to come back. My uni everyone lives in apartments second year. Schedules compress, priorities change and people often become pickier in what they want in their friends. My boyfriend and I have found it a bit tough to make close friends in college, so we mostly stay in and hang out on the couch. In the first couple of weeks i have spoken to people who were sat by themselves. I thought about it so much and it got worse and worse and I developed depression. Americans have a lot of casual friends often and only have a close circle of 2 or 3 friends. And thats just one of the things. I mean, can we speak for all Americans based only on a few comments. Unfortunately the uni I went to was not my first choice and therefore I did not get a place in the main campus and thus had to take a bus 40 minute journey into my lecture and all the main attractions of my uni is far away to make a quick trip. It seemed like no one would give me a second thought. I hope we will hear back from you. Hey, I feel the exact same way. No why is it so hard to make friends in university is gonna serve it to you on a platter, or feel sorry for you if you can't relate. When it came to applying for housing next year my friend one of the previous mentioned wanted me to live with her and her 2nd year flat mates, however, one of the girls, who was really mean said she didnt want me to, which was awful. It is therefore totally unrealistic to expect instant connections or perfect friends who will never let you down or disappoint. I rented a bungalow with two of my girlfriends from school, we went out often, and the list of people I could call in the case of an emergency was well-stocked. While local students are living a few hours from home, at most, international students are thousands of miles away from their family and friends. We have a beautiful two-year-old daughter, but are having problems conceiving a second child. It is difficult to do so when depressed though, and you have less motivation and enthusiasm. However, those disappointments are behind you now.Listen to what people say, remember their names and their likes and dislikes and just take the time to learn more about them. I know my housmates and neighbours, but everytime they go out they leave me behind without telling me anything. There are lots of tertiary education institutes in Melbourne. If you do go ahead with moving in together then good luck and I hope id works out!I feel like a moron. Ask for a referral and a mental health care plan. If your new friends bring their friends.
