Another good movie sulked by Hollywood and their fans, you can read many of them here, they are the one giving bad ratings.

This movie is quite good and entertaining and it is NOT of "hollywoodian" type, this means no cheesy sex-scene while people are dying around you, no american flag showing up to "ave-the-world" (especially nowadays with the Orange Squirrel in charge), so real entertainment without the usual cheesyness.

This time they went further, not being censored by the american right that manages hollywood and the medias in general, and showed us "an" idea of what aliens could be and how they could be organized.

There is a lot of action, some interesting views on the alien society and "thinking" soldiers (proving they cannot be american soldiers!).

To the opposite of many hollywood movies, there is no waste of time with personal problems and frustrations. No, you will not see people blabbing about things not related to the subject and wasting your time with unnecessary information that gets you no closer to the understanding of the situation.

Very straight forward, some mistakes, some lack but very great entertainment. I hope they do a 3rd one similar to this one.
I'm a huge fan of the original SKYLINE, a low budget science fiction thriller set in and around an apartment subjected to a worldwide alien invasion. This belated sequel is a different beast all together, an international sci-fi action production which features none of the same cast, although a couple of the characters return. It's a mixed beast for sure, and a film that shouldn't really work all that well; certainly it has a certain sense of familiarity about it that prevents it from being as much fun as the first. However, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. The first half is all about Frank Grillo (quickly establishing himself as one of the most interesting action stars of our generation) attempting to escape brain-hungry aliens and save his son in the process. The second half shifts to Laos, actually filmed in Indonesia, and becomes a martial arts production of sorts. The CGI is cheap at times but certainly effective, while the action never lets up. I should say that it's impossible for me to dislike a film which features no less than two actors from the RAID films (Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhain) and gives them a chance to kick some extraterrestrial backside.
Beyond Skyline is a boldly bonkers film, and it leans into its genre goofiness with a straight face thanks to Grillo. But more humor would have gone a long way in sustaining interest and entertainment, as it’s not quite funny, and too low-budget to take seriously.
