LOVE IN SNOW »kisses in the dark PART THREE It was actually almost wintertime outside, though no snow had fallen yet. Still, the wind was biting cold and Junno almost ran the short road back home. It was his usual, secret road - around the school, between two big buildings, beside (or through, if he was in a hurry) the kids play park, than through the as-called “mini-forest” and over the hidden basketball ground in the midst of it, and taking the slums on his way home. But something happened at the road, something that stopped him from running directly home. He was all up in the clouds, thinking of the day, that he’d been forced to stay an hour or so longer than everybody else (so the school was empty when he left); and of course that transfer girl… but his mind also, as usual, circulated around those… those guys. Jin and Kazuya. And he’d also seen that Maru shot a sad gaze after Ueda when the others bullied her, so he was maybe on her side anyway. Still what annoyed him the most was that Koki; at least for the moment. Koki, the rapper who simply refused to be as the others in class, had simply jumped over him too frighten him - with good luck, ‘cause Junno still was shaky. So, with his head up among the clouds he didn’t realize it was someone straight in front of himself, at the basketball ground. So with a loud thud he realized he’d fallen over someone. Someone who seemed as shocked as himself to suddenly walk straight into the other, and who was a boy, could Junno feel against his own body. Yup. No breasts. ”Oh, sorry”, Junno mumbled and hurried to get up on his feet before helping the other up. “I didn’t think there should be someone here…” “No, I didn’t think so either”, the boy answered. He was a little shorter than Junno himself, but it was totally normal since Junno was like… tall. “I should’ve watched out anyway… did you see were my ball went?” “Went?” “Yeah you know. Rolled.” The boy began looking for his as called “ball”, and it didn’t take long before he found it. “Ah, here!” He begun to bounce it, and Junno saw it was a basketball. “Well you’re on the right place, ain’t you?” he smiled and stretched because his body was aching. “But I’ve never seen anybody on this ground before.” “Oh I’m new; this is the closest place to my home, you see.” That voice… Junno couldn’t place it but he knew he’d already heard it. Somewhere… The boy put his long hair up in a ponytail but seemed to ignore his fringe, so it was simply hanging in his face. “What’s your name, by the way?” he then asked. “Taguchi Junnosuke… err… say Junno.” “Ah.” The boy smiled widely, so wide that Junno couldn’t help but smiling back. “I’m Tatsuya. Wanna play?” “Oh, err, I’m not really good at basketba-“ “C’mon, it’s just the two of us!” The boy grabbed his hand and pulled him with himself against the bad cage. “Let’s pass and shoot, Junno!” So they did. And Junno found out that he actually had very fun. When they ended their “match”, Tatsuya just laughed. “Not really good at basketball, are you, neee?” he said, and bounced himself a little closer. “Oh I guess I was better than I thought myself to be.” Junno was prouder of himself than he wanted to tell the other boy because he’d never really been good at basketball. “Oh really? Are you *better than you think* at something else, then?” Tatsuya said, suddenly standing right in front of him. The ball rolled away. “Uuuhhh”, Junno began, but he found out he didn’t know really how to speak as the boy slowly flung his arms around Junno’s neck and pressed their lips together. Without a word - yea, how should he actually be able to speak while kissing? Got any idea? - Junno hurried to pull his own arms around the other’s waist. Tatsuya pressed in his tongue between Junno’s lips, not that Junno had something against it; he still was quite surprised. Too soon the kiss ended. Way too soon, and Junno opened his mouth to protest but Tatsuya silenced him with another, short kiss. “Meat here tomorrow?” he whispered. “Same time?” Then he picked up the ball and vanished. Junno stared after him.
