Book descriptionIch denke, mir hätte Iphigenie ganz gut gefallen können, ja, wenn nicht zwei Faktoren das Ganze beeinflusst hätten - das eine war mein Deutschunterricht, der das Buch leider totinterpretiert und mir damit die Freude geraubt hat. Ich gebe zu: Der gute Goethe kann dafür nichts. Für den zweiten Punkt hingegen schon. Was ich an dem Buch wirklich kritisiere ist, im Gegensatz zu vielen, nicht die Sprache, die zwar manchmal schwierig, aber größtenteils verständlich und partiell wirklich schön ist. Iphigenie selbst war für mich das größte Problem. Alle anderen Charaktere sind so gelungen; sie haben ihre Schwächen und sind manchmal zwar etwas überzeichnet, aber grundsätzlich machen ihre Fehler sie sympathisch und sie sind sehr plastisch. Das komplette Gegenteil bildet jedoch Iphigenie: Ihr humanistischen Handeln, das einem schon nach wenigen Seiten auf den Zeiger geht, ist alles andere als menschlich. Was für eine Über-Göttin hat Goethe da nur geschaffen? Beim Lesen kam ich mir vor wie beim Soundtrack zu Bibi-und-Tina-Hörspielen: Und ist der Graben mal zu breit - für Bibi ist das keine Schwierigkeit, hex, hex, alles in Butter. Keine Lage ist zu hoffnungslos, Iphigenie findet schon einen Ausweg. Kein Herrscher kann ihr Angst einjagen, Iphigenie redet ihn einfach kaputt. Kein Mensch ist zu verdorben, Iphigenie zeigt ihm den wahren, richtigen Weg. Es gibt einfach nichts, was diese Dame nicht schafft - gerade deswegen kann ich sie nicht ernst nehmen. Keiner kann sich so verhalten, und deswegen ist ihr Vorbildcharakter gleich null.
