18 May 2010 Hey guys, I've had a brand new 2010 Mazda3 6-speed manual for about a week, and I'm loving it so far, and having fun getting used to driving manual for Get used to moving both pedals at once. I got a car wash afterwards, but man, I could hear rocks pinging off my car the whole way back. Ugh.
I can get gong smoothly by giving it a little gas and easing the clutch out, then just before the clutch comes fully out, reduce the gas to stop it from jerking forward, but although this is smooth it means every time I move off I move a little bit, pause, and then accelerate to get going. I see cars all over the place
15 Nov 2016 The suggestion about getting ready to pull off a few seconds earlier is good aswell. Round me I have gotten to know how long the lights take to change, so often manage to get the car revving (not stupidly, but hitting the biting point/pressing on the gas) as the lights turn orange, meaning even if I move off quite slowly I'm still

22 Jun 2012 To minimise wear and tear on the clutch mechanism, make sure you take the left foot fully off the clutch pedal once the car is moving. length from where you want to stop, to the clutch pedal quickly down to the floor of the car and lessen the pressure on the foot brake a little to bring the car to a gentle stop.
Driving a manual transmission is a task that takes some training, but can be accomplished by pretty much anyone who puts their mind to it. Driving a all the way out. The quicker you release the clutch the less wear, so the idea is to release the clutch as quickly as you can while still making your car move forward smoothly.
well i've had my first manual transmission car for couple weeks nowtook me awhile to get use to but i would say i have the handle of it now. my question is how do you accelerate quickly or "drive hard"? the car seems to be very slow off the line and i remembered that by flooring my old slower automatic
I've been driving a manual transmission car for about 3 months now, but I till have not figured out how to move from rest quickly and smoothly. Then Slowly, very slowly, lift up off of the clutch until the vehicle sets into motion (5-10mph) This will help you determine where the sweet spot is and hopefully help
