I've chosen to talk about the writer H.C Andersen, or should I say Hans Christian Andersen, as his real name is. He was born 1805 in Denmark and died, at the same place, 1875. As young he was pretty much like other boys, but he felt very lonely. He regarded himself like an ugly, weak guy and that gave him a poor self-esteem. He had a father who was a poor shoemaker man with a big interest for writing, that interest passed on to his son.
As older, Andersen saw himself like a tailor. But things got changed, when he found the big interest for writing. He decided himself to go into town, to find a job as an actor, writer or something like that. Most of the people who saw him dance, act, sing or write, didn’t like it. But somehow he found a couple of people who did. They gave him a stipend for school, so he could get some kind of education. At first, everything worked fine, but while time past by, he became an outsider in school (of reason that he wasn’t like everyone else) and his dad got forced to travel to Germany for war. Andersen kept fight on, even though things were difficult. His dad was gone and he didn’t have anything or anyone at all. When the school finally ended, in 1828, was Andersen happy. Years of hard work and he finally made it!
Happiness was great when he after so many years of dreaming finally could start his writing for real. He travelled around Europe and made himself famous. When he was around thirty years old he started to write his first child books.
