Robotboy is a cute, cutting-edge, butt-kicking battle-robot, who dreams of becoming a real boy. Created by world-renowned scientist Professor Moshimo, Robotboy has the ability to superactivate into a fighting machine capable of destroying entire armies. This attracts the diabolical attention of supervillains intent on harnessing Robotboy's powers to enslave the world. So Moshimo sends Robotboy far away to live with his number one fan, Tommy Turnbull, in the peaceful Bay Area. Here the small bot experiences life from the point of view of a kid growing up within a real family. It's up to Tommy and his pals, super-rich Lola and super-obnoxious Gus, to keep the world's most powerful fighting robot safe. And that's no easy task when the supervillians include a crazy cloning scientist, a twisted party magician and a deranged billionaire with a giant Orang-Utan sidekick...
Now, I like sci-fi cartoons. However, when "Robotboy" appeared in Canada in late 2006, I watched the premiere and was inevitably appalled. The characters are generic and stereotypical (Do they REALLY need to make an African-American man wear tiger-stripe print clothing and speak in a Jamacian accent? WHY are all the Asian characters vibrant yellow and squinting? Does the mother HAVE to have big thighs and chest and constantly complain?) to the point where things become unrealistic, predictable, gross and sometimes disturbing. There are heavy similarities to, even stabs, at Astro Boy. Allow me to explain (dub names for the young): Robotboy/Astro, Kamikaze/Tenma, Constantine/Shadow, Gus/Abercrombie, Tommy/Alejo, Lola/Zoran+Kennedy, Moshimo/O'Shay, and it so on. Brief resemblances to "My Life As A Teenage Robot", "Star Wars", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "Kamen Riders", "Sailor Moon" and co. are afoot. Not to mention the abundant racial/gender stereotyping. Don't even get me started on the innuendos. I'll just say they're hidden and quite dirty. But seriously. Don't even try watching this. Especially if you like Astro Boy.
I had never liked Robotboy. Even as a kid, I have always hated it. Oh my God, Cartoon Network can't even make a GOOD European co- production!!! Honestly, this is another show I probably don't understand why people like. So, this show is about this one robot boy named Robotboy, and there's this fat guy named Gus, this black girl named Lola, and this hippie boy named Tommy, and they try to save the world from Dr. Kamikazi and Constatine. What angers me about this show is the fact that it's nothing more than a knock-off My Life as a Teenage Robot. I agree with Keisok, Gus is all like "HEY!! Let's be greedy, lazy, and selfish!!", and Tommy is all like "No, we have to help him!! No we have the save the world!! No we have to help save the environment, because I wanna be like Captain Planet!!" This show is just boring, the animation sucked, Gus annoyed the hell out of me, this show just isn't awesome to me.
While this hasn't particularly been fully explained,but there could perhaps be a hint that Protoboy was repaired by someone who found him destroyed after the battle between him and Robotboy. After being repaired the founder might have offered him to work for him/her and will always repair him every time he's hurt or destroyed thus can do his revenge. Professor Moshimo have created Robotboy for use as a machine for defending and to communicate with humans as well. But having these three kinds of forms makes it easier to recognize what Robotboy and other of Moshimo's creations are depending the situation. For examples:
Deactivated: Robotboy is not activated when we see his head being shaped like a circle. The one thing Tommy use Robotboy as deactivated is like a toy when his parents are around him.
Activated: Robotboy firstly receives his ears by growing out and then can be used for both communication and defending. The way of Robotboy being activated can be used for battling and defend yourself from danger.
Super-activated: The most superior form only to use if the villain he battles with become's more berserk. The weapons becomes more advanced and powerful and can possibly overcome the battle. 646f9e108c
