Books are managed by the OS X application iBooks. You have to use iBooks in order to add books to your library. There is no Books section in your iTunes library where you can drag files to. So just launch iBooks and drag files into the application window, and the books section in the synchronize tab will

Hi everyone, Since the iOS 10 update, my iPad Air keeps deleting my PDF files without my permission to free up space and store them on cloud, although I still have 600mb-1gb left and I use those files frequently. Any idea how to turn off this anoying "function"? Thank you very much!
If you've enabled iCloud, they're stored in Mobile Documents folder. Here's the full path to books you've added: ~/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~apple~iBooks/Documents/. Here's the full path to books purchased through the iBooks store: ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.
