18 Sep 2012 xfig complains about missing all fonts in the drawings. Solution: install gsfonts-x11 package and reboot. This should be made a dependency. This was reported also for Mint 13: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1025842 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: xfig
17 Jul 2012 my current system: LinuxMint 13, 64-bit I installed xfig (among many other programs). Now I want to use xfig to modify some of my drawings created in xfig on ubuntu 11.04. After loading my drawing I can see letters displayed in very small and thin fonts (quite odd for given purpose) and xfig writes out error
With missing letters, you might have trouble finding the "Antialiasing" label etc. Here's a graphical guide on how the tool looks with working fonts, to help you find where to click. In the first window, you must pick the "Tweaks" tab in the top row (third from the left — i.e. the central one), then "Fonts" (first icon on

25 Jul 2013 Most users will find default Xfig fonts rather limited. The problem can be easily alleviated using psfrag package. From your description I get a sense that you are not very familiar with Xfig as you have problem rescaling existing fonts. Egreg comment about TikZ was rather misplaced. Xfig is a vector graphics
xfig has a long-standing weakness - sometimes it cannot grab the right fonts. In my opensuse 13.2, after some changes in hardware (replaced graphics card and monitor), xfig does not work with fonts correctly. The fonts shown on screen are stretched too much, meanwhile in pdf export they are correct.

It could be an xfig or matlab problem, or a problem from another image generator. If the contained pdfs don't create the issue, then it is most likely an include such as blackboard fonts that is
29 Apr 2014 Dear all, I've recently installed ubuntu 14.04 and xfig,a tool I use quite a lot to make document drawings. The fact is that in this new ubuntu I've found that text on screen does not conform to the font size as it used to do in every oher version I've used (I mean to say, same xfig version, different ubuntu release)
14 Dec 2016 I am running 5.3.2c on Ubuntu 16.04. I can see on screen all the ps and latex fonts at angle="0".0, but the text goes blank when I rotate from 0.0 (including 90.0). The text is correctly rotated in the exported PDF file. Am I missing some font files? Here is my font list from xset. Font Path: /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc
