Melvin, a reluctant Superhero, lives only for crime, women and drugs - until he realises that the only way he will ever get to see his estranged son is to go straight and fulfil his potential as a crime fighter.
This is the latest super pleasure shooter after "American Ultra", "Limitless" and all the rest including the old school "Scarface". Drugs these days are blended with a telekinesis and taking into account low budget have been performed fairly well, I would even say alluring..Quite colourful graphic savvy movie with an inventive plot. Nick Love wrote and derected ..oh yeah..what the impressive vision he has...The idea combined with a superiority and drugs sure will cheaply be taken over by susceptible youth (unfortunately for a short time until the body is safe and sound of course). I strongly believe that one day mankind will be rewarded by such a power but sure there won't be drugs... or is it possible that crowd of thoughtless addicts being able to command natural forces can agree with each other?

THE END
This could have been a good movie as the cast do a credible job with what they have been given, unfortunately that wasn't much. A lot of drinking, drug using and partying fill in the gaps where they seem to have run out of ideas and some unimaginative scenes where the lead character uses his powers make up the rest of the movie.
I was looking forward to seeing this movie but spent my entire time waiting for it to go somewhere, it never did.
American Hero starts off seeming as if it is going to be a fresh take on superheroes, but Nick Love, who wrote and directed, turns out to have nowhere to go with his intriguing premise.
