When a magic scepter accidentally transports April back through time to 17th Century Japan, the boys take-off in hot pursuit, cowabungling their way out of the sewers right into Samurai-O-Rama! Now they must battle the evil Lord Norinaga to reclaim the magic scepter that will bring them back below the subways of New York City.
The turtles find themselves transported back in time to ancient Japan.
Some people claim that Turtles 3 was the worst one of the series. But come on it focused more on kids than adults like Turtles 2. In Turtles 3 the turtles get sent back into time by a old Japanese specter to recuse April which was also sent back through time from the specter. The turtles end up in 17th century Japan. The overall result is really entertaining! Some of the original cast members return from the first movie, such as Elias Koteas who plays the funny Casey Jones, Corey Fieldman returns as the voice of Donny. Out of all of the turtles movies this one is properly the best one for young kids. Its violence is more like childish acts and its full of comedy. The bad guy in this movie is a dude named Walker and he uses guns to kill people. The start of the movie starts with the turtles dancing to ZZ Top music and showing off their ninja skills. The special effects aren't as good as the first two movies but they are still convincing. This movie was panned by critic's and people on its release and a written out to be a flop and at one stage it was a rare movie to have because only a few thousand copies were only made world-wide. But thanks to DVD the movie is now part of the Turtles series pack on DVD.
This is an OK sequel to the first Ninja Turtle movies, but not as good as the first two though. The plot kind of didn't make sense and most stuff in this movie was fake. One part in this movie that really didn't make any sense was that Splinter could sense danger through time. How could Splinter even do that? Also that kid that Michelangelo saved from that burning house in 17th century Japan, his name was Yoshi as in Hamato Yoshi, Splinters master who we saw in the flash back of the first Ninja Turtles movie. They never explained it in this movie though cause the turtles didn't even mention anything about the boy to Splinter. Also what's with Michelangelo having a love interest in this Japanese woman when he had a crush on April O Neal in the first two movies? Also I could've sworn that that Samurai warrior who was sent into the present that that woman was his sister, but I'm wrong about that part. He was actually in love with her. Also I could've sworn that Anthony Hopkins was the main villain in this movie, but it's just some other actor who kind of looks like him and Anthony Hopkins played the infamous Hannibal Lecter. Also for the villains demise we see him fall down to a watery grave and the splash effect in that scene was totally fake cause we didn't actually see himself go into the water. We just see him disappear like magic with the sound of a splash. Also what's with the time traveling thing and the whole mythology thing about the turtles being demons or gods being there to fight an army long ago? That also doesn't make any sense cause the turtles were just house pets once and then turned into teenage mutant ninjas after crawling through a radioactive ooze. This movie sort of has a kick to the first two movies but not as good as the other 2 though. OK but not that good.
If the first sequel was a photocopy of the original, this second sequel is a tracing of a photocopy. It's the same business twice removed, and twice diminished.
Due to Britain's strict policy with regard to martial arts weapons the old VHS of this Turtles movie used several alternative scenes in order to avoid this set of problems in the UK. With the abolition of the BBFC's agenda the movie got released in its uncut version on DVD in Britain. a5c7b9f00b
