12 Jun 2009 I just bought a 50mm FD Lens from ebay and while I wait for my adapter to come in (I have an EOS mount camera), I wanted to test out the mechanics because it makes a rattling sound when gently shaken. 9 Jun 2011 I just received this great looking Canon FD f1.4 50mm lens by mail today, however, I can't get the aperture blades to show. I've tried . Removing the spring holding Because the aperture ring is designed to only drive the aperture in one direction, you need to manually link the aperture ring to the diaphragm. Here I used a short
As i have no praxis-experience with lenses i am also surprised that you can turn the aperture ring while the lever is NOT engaged. . This is the "FL mode" of the lever, which allowed the then-new FD lenses to be used on the older FL-mount Canon cameras which had fully manual aperture control.
