5 Feb 2007 I like the long life aspect of the cloth kit, but will it affect the sound in these older speaker?? also has anybody done this job without removing the dust caps . contacted the folks at BOSE about repairing the 901's, their reply was to sell me an updated series VI speaker with new EQ for close to $800.00 with

16 Mar 2007 Re: Bose 901 replacement cones / speakers needed. I was hesitatant to reply here because I would be admitting that I had Bose speakers at one time. My 901 had the surrounds completely disinigrate. I bought a surround repair kit. It was a bit difficult to do. The adhesive was really stringy and seemed to

3 Feb 2013 Bringing a vintage Bose 901 Series 1 equalizer back to life with some new components. I'm happy to report that the repair was a success and, while I haven't heard for myself yet, I've been told that it sounds “awesome" it sounds pretty awesome. Since then, I've been able to check out the installation.
