Orphaned when he was still an innocent infant, the Chosen one, the born martial arts expert, swears to avenge his parents' death and take his revenge from Master Pain, aka Betty, the ruthless villain who has wronged him. Reared by gophers and trained by Master Tang himself, the Kung Fu prodigy sets off his heroic adventure along with the fellow martial arts student, Ling, and the voluptuous sage, Whoa, wandering the vast landscape against endless waves of lethal enemies and a devastating karate-chopping dairy cow. Inevitably, the final confrontation with the villainous Master Pain is at hand, however, has the Chosen One mastered his art?
A rough-around-the-edges martial arts master seeks revenge for his parent's death.
Although this film does basically retread ground already broken when Woody Allen debuted `What's Up, Tiger Lily?', audiences unfamiliar with the technique of melding old Hong Kong movies with modern soundtracks and in this case actors might find this movie to be a departure from the usual slapstick "Naked Gunn" type movies. Unfortunately, this movie was promoted as "Naked Gunn-esque" in the trailer, turning away many moviegoers (including myself). While a good deal of the humor is puerile, there are some really inspired bits that are worth checking out now that it is available on video.
When I watched this movie I had several laughattacks.. This movie makes a great parody out of old chinese movies.. If you have watched chinese kung fu movies you will recognize the bad sounds but in "Kung Pow" they take the sounds to a worse level and overdoes everything.. I love this sick humour.. I think it is the best parody ever done! Either you will think this is the worst movie you have seen or you will say it is one of the funniest.. Really depends on your type of humour.. Sick humour: Great movie, Dull humour: bad movie... thats all..
The result is hopelessly inane, humorless and under-inspired.
