Rented a car and drove to Monte, a tiny village in the hills above Funchal, famous for its lush gardens.
Our tiny car. Isn't it cute? Looks like a lingonberry. Also its small engine made it impossible to drive up the sepentine roads in anything but second gear xD
A typical Madeiran countryside. The small huts are for a cow or goat and the owner walks there every day with fresh hay and water.
In Santana there were some sort of festival going on. I've never seen so many flowers in one place before o.o
After hours of searching we finally discovered the famous A-houses by accident while driving out of the city xD
After eating dinner at a fancy restaurant (superyummy peppersteak, not quite as yummy espada (local fish)) we saw this gorgeous view. Renate is trying to take it all in by standing as close to it as p
After eating we hurried back to Pico do Arieiro to catch the setting sun. Unfortunately we were a bit late but it was still a gorgeous view from the top <3
