This pump is powerful! It is much stronger than my Medela manual pump. For me, it is stronger and more efficient than my electric pump, too. I pump the same amount in the same time. This pump is compact! It is smaller than my Medela manual pump. The assembly has one more step than the Medela, but it's still quite easy

The motor, tube, cap, and adaptor do not need to be cleaned because they did not come into contact with breast milk. Wash all other parts in warm, soapy water or in your dishwasher. Optional: Sterilize all parts in a Philips AVENT sterilizer, or boil for five minutes. Let all of the parts air-dry before storing.
13 Jun 2017 Residue on the plastic can taint the milk, as noted by the Avent Manual Breast Pump instruction manual. Disassemble the parts, unscrew the top and remove the vent. Place all parts in a sink with warm water and antibacterial soap, and swish around. Remove the parts and rinse well before spreading on a towel to air dry.
