I've been having the same issue. 2.4 GHz, 802.11g. I've been trying manual set up, but so far the best I've been able to do is change security from TKIP to AES. That (apparently) let's my Switch find the router, but it can't obtain an IP address. Thanks for this, I did the same and was finally able to find and connect to my router.
Setup. On the console, press the HOME Button to open the HOME Menu, then open System Settings. Select Internet ? Internet Settings. Select your router's SSID from the list of found networks. If you can't find your wireless router, press the Y Button to search again. Enter the password for the router.
