The Pit of Saron is the second of three instances that make up the Frozen Halls in Icecrown Citadel. It was added in patch 3.3 which added all of the Icecrown Citadel content to the game. Until it has been completed you will not be able to enter the third and final instance of the Frozen Halls called the Halls

The Pit of Saron has 3 bosses, Forgemaster Garfrost, Ick and Krick and Scourgelord Tyrannus and Rimefang. The final two bosses are a combination of two bosses, as you can tell. For Ick and Krick, Krick rides on the back of Ick. For Scourgelord Tyrannus Rimefang will assist him in the fight.

The Pit of Saron is the second wing of the Frozen Halls, located within Icecrown Citadel. The The Forge of Souls must be completed before a player can access the Pit of Saron, and this dungeon must be completed in order to access the Halls of Reflection.
10 Dec 2009 Once Tyrannus flys away you should make your way along the right path of the pit freeing prisoners along the way. If you follow the right edge you will come to Forgemaster Garfrost who will be your first big fight in the instance.
18 Apr 2012 You must complete Forge of Souls first. You must have completed Forge of Souls once, either on normal or heroic, in order to access the Pit of Saron. The pit in the center can be fallen into. A large pit takes up the center of the quarry in the Pit of Saron, and it can be fallen into by players.
19 Oct 2010 The Pit of Saron is the second wing of the dungeon series located within the Icecrown Citadel stronghold. There is also a quest available to those with the fortune to be on the Battered Hilt quest line, though I will not be talking about this quest in this guide as I believe it is better left for it's own quest line
