Remake of the 1999 TV series of Hunter x Hunter based on the manga by Togashi Yoshihiro. A Hunter is one who travels the world doing all sorts of dangerous tasks. From capturing criminals to searching deep within uncharted lands for any lost treasures. Gon is a young boy whose father disappeared long ago, being a Hunter. He believes if he could also follow his father's path, he could one day reunite with him. After becoming 12, Gon leaves his home and takes on the task of entering the Hunter exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death to become an official Hunter. He befriends the revenge-driven Kurapica, the doctor-to-be Leorio and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua in the exam, with their friendship prevailing throughout the many trials and threats they come upon taking on the dangerous career of a Hunter.
Gon Freecss aspires to become a Hunter, an exceptional being capable of greatness. With his friends and his potential, he seeks for his father who left him when he was younger.
Hunter x Hunter 2011 version is faithfully keeping to the original manga and retelling the story from the ground up. The visuals are impressive and the story development is exciting. As new enemies arrive they challenge our heroes Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio. The four of them make an incredible team.

The characters in the anime are super, since they all have their own ability and unique appearance. You will sit at the edge of your seat when the fights commence, and as the episodes progress our heroes face new difficulties, while still keeping the crazy humor.

In comparison to the 1999 version I like them both equally. The 1999 version has a flawless nostalgic feeling, with it's beautiful soundtrack and first time anime draft. The 2011 version adds what was missing back then and continues the anime to better heights. Certainly watch this if you like fighting anime with a good story.
Hunter X Hunter 2011 is an amazing work.

I have read the Manga and watched the anime (1999), and it is certified to the origin.

The animation is at the highest quality there is, giving the opportunity to truly enjoy this series. In HD-widescreen, you can really feel the action and connect to the story and the characters.

I am following the new release weekly, and every new episode I am astonished by the high quality of the sound, picture and story which are exactly how they should be.

Hunter X Hunter story is rich, interesting and authentic, and the writers of this new series did a great job transferring and transmitting it.

Another great feature in the new series is the background adjustment to our time - Phones, computers and more electronic devices that were rare and undeveloped in the Manga can now be found and used anywhere, without damaging the story. I believe it even adds to the experience.

This is a must-see show, to any fan of this genre (Especially to whom had seen and/or read Hunter X Hunter), though I would really recommend this series to anyone.

Both series are anime based on the Japanese manga "Hunter x Hunter".

The original series that aired in 1999 was produced by Nippon Animation, and while it did follow the manga for the most part, it also deviated in many ways. Parts of the original story were altered, as well as "filler" episodes, which are unique to the anime and not found anywhere in the manga. Unfortunately, the writing of the manga went on hiatus during the production of this series, and as a result, the 1999 series could not complete the Hunter x Hunter story.

The 2011 series is produced by Madhouse Inc., and promises to follow the manga very closely. The manga has sinced resumed from hiatus, which should allow the 2011 series to animate episodes far beyond the 1999 series as well as the other Hunter x Hunter OVAs (Original Video Animations). a5c7b9f00b
