A strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge.
Peter Parker is finally happy: he is doing well at the school, his girlfriend MJ Watson loves him and the whole city loves his crime-fighting alter-ego Spider-Man, finally bestowing upon him the praise he so rightly deserves. Apart from this, he has made some new foes and rivals . His former friend-turned-foe Harry Osborn has become the New Goblin and wants to avenge his father by killing Spider-Man. On one night, an alien symbiote from outer space crash lands in Peter's vicinity and attaches itself to his Spider suit, turning it black in colour and enhancing its powers. Flint Marko, a fugitive, is turned into The Sandman when he gets subjected to a molecular lab experiment. Incidentally, Marko is the person who is revealed to have killed Peter's uncle Ben and now Peter wants revenge. Peter's job as a freelance photographer with The Daily Bugle is taken by Eddie Brock. Peter also learns that apart from enhancing his powers the black symbiote has also brought out the dark side within him which causes him to ruthlessly manages to throw Eddie out of his job. When MJ breaks up with him, he starts dating his fellow student Gwen Stacy who was Edie's ex, to make them both jealous. Soon Peter must decide whether he should let his dark side to dominate his personality or not.
Yes, I actually kinda sorta like Spiderman 3, I know it's not a good movie but I still enjoyed it for what it was. First, I want to start out by what Spiderman 3 did right...which isn't much. Spiderman 3 does something interesting, it jumps right into the story, which the other two films took a little more time getting to. Spiderman 3's pace is much faster than 1 & 2, which is both bad and good for the movie (I'll touch on this later). But the movie doesn't waste time on anything (which is also good and bad). The film opens with Sandman escaping from the cops, and the story given to Sandman I like. He's this dude who escaped from jail and is trying to provide for his sick daughter and be the husband his wife needs. The dude's story I feel is set up very well (at least when comparing it to the over villains in the movie), and has a little more of a family appeal to it. Something else done well would have to be the action scenes, this had some of the best in the Raimi trilogy. The beginning fight with Peter and Harry was awesome to watch (even with CG Peter in a suit). The second fight with Peter and Harry towards the end is a pretty brutal scene. The sequence where Peter and Sandman first meet was pretty good too. These scenes are by no means as awesome as the train sequence in Spidey 2, but were still good fun to watch regardless. I do feel like the acting for the most part is good for the most part on most of the characters.
And this is where I lead into my next part... the problems with Spidey 3...I may as well start where I left off. The acting is good...for the most part...for at least the main characters. The scenes with Peter and the symbiote are basically all ridiculous. Especially the dancing Peter (both times) is just...no. Topher Grace needs to quit acting after this movie. The symbiote itself just shouldn't have even been in this movie. It's the villain that has the less screen time but is one of the more popular villains in the Spiderman universe. Plus the screen time given didn't fit well with the story anyways. Sandman, although a good backstory, gets his powers in a forced and dumb way. Mary Jane once again can't figure out how to girl. Harry I feel was good until he ran into a pipe and lost his memories then it was dumb. You know what all is wrong with this movie, I don't need to waste very much time on it.
About the symbiote, I feel like it would have worked better in Spidey 2. Peter in Spidey 2 was just ripped to shreds when compared to Spidey 3, it felt so forced in Spidey 3 that I feel as if instead of losing his powers, Peter could have been taken by the Symbiote and have turned to emo Peter. I'm not saying that would have made a better movie, but just I feel it would work better that way if they HAD to use Venom somewhere in the story.
Overall Spiderman 3 is not very good. But there is one thing that I liked in this movie more than 1 & 2, which is the pacing. Yes the movie's tone is all over the place, yes the movie just shoves plot points down your throat to buy it, yes the movie goes left, right and everywhere in between with it's plot threads. But because this movie moves so fast, and is so mind boggling how insane it gets (I'm looking at the emo dancing Peter scenes) the movie is still enjoyable to watch because it is regrettably something new. In the end I had some fun with Spidey 3...but I still think the movie sucks.
This movie was not very good, but then again I didn't really expect it to be (after seeing the 2nd one). To tell you the truth, the only reason I saw this movie was because of James Franco (who looked wonderful by the way). The acting was horrible (as usual) and it was way longer than it needed to be. Am I the only one who is tired of that old lady's talking?! The only reason I was entertained by this movie was because it was funny. But I don't even think the writer or director meant for it to be as funny as it was to me. It was just all the stupid-sounding lines that everyone had and the odd faces they put on when they were angry or upset. Thankfully it wasn't quite as horrible as number 2!
The wow factor works overtime with state-of-the-art effects sequences that often are as beautiful as they are astonishing.
Yes, he's seen in the background at the funeral. The suit has a will of its own. It didn't resist before because Peter took it off normally. It knew that Peter would eventually wear the black suit again. At the church bell tower, Peter was taking it off because he didn't want it. The suit sensed that, and resisted. As such, the Symbiote knew that Peter wanted to throw it away, so even if Peter "acted normal" in his apartment and just dressed off, the Symbiote would have put resistance. Throughout the film, the audience was shown that Peter kept the black suit on while engaging in reckless acts. Therefore, he was likely wearing it at the bar when he attacked MJ. After realizing his error and deciding to rid himself of the suit, he went to the nearby Church to do so. Actually, he finds that this is the perfect spot to get rid of the suit, because, as we can see in the ending sequence, the Symbiote has one big weakness: sound. The bell made the Symbiote weak, and helped Peter to "break it". This is the same method used by Spidey in the comics, but he uses it already knowing that weakness. a5c7b9f00b
