Vandaler har vandaliserat.
Vet inte riktigt när vandalismen ägt rum om det var innan alla checkpoints upprättades eller om de smygt sig in på området eller hur det gått till.

Stop making fun of Pripyat, it was a great town at is time and it's not the fault of the citizens that this happened, it's because of the government!

Sofia, but I have been in Pripyat, like many others have lol.
Anyway, I'm wondering why people want to visit... I'm trying to ask myself too.

I made the trip for many reasons,
I'm quite fond of deserted buildings and in this case; towns.
But I also visited the town/area in order to get a more realistic impression of the catastrophe. Yeah sure I have read about it and seen some films on youtube but this is as close you can get to the actual event without experiencing it first hand.
But as both of you say, kids/teenagers today dont know half of it. Many users on this forum have left comments like "what catastrophe?"
Since Ukraine (and europe) was very lucky it didnt go worse than it did I belive school and parents have a big responsibility to inform about this just as much as any historic event.

Yes, I understand. And you have told me before about it .
I don't have the same memory as most people here.
Pripyat is a part of my personality, and I learned very much from the town, more than from the school actually since they never let me go there, lol.
Sadly I didn't see any of the two ladies Rumi mentioned in the town, but I saw an old woman in a small village outside. So I'm wondering if you have seen somebody living there?
School is junk these days, trust me. From my experience you learn more if you don't go there. That's how I survived working since I was 13.
