The Colosseum is unique and will be a memory that will stick with you from your visit to Rome so it makes sense to invest some time planning ahead your Colosseum visit. How much time should you budget? Which Colosseum entrance ticket is appropriate and will a tour or experience be a good investment, and what about
13 Mar 2017 Iwill be in Rome Easter week with my family (family of 5). Should I book tour of the Colosseum or not? I'm concerned bout spending too much time in lines due to crowds. 27 Jul 2009 Get the tour books that have those "Do it yourself self guided tours" sections. The only exception would be the Scavi Tour. You need a guide to see the place. Some do not think the Scavi Tour is worthwhile, I thought it was as it gives you an idea on how deep (depth) ancient Rome used to be, the conflicts,
9 Dec 2016 Do you have to wait in line to get in? I've visited Rome three times now. Each time I've explored the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum, I've used a different methodology to explore these famous sites. Which is best: Guide book, random tour, or pre-booked tour? Is it worth hiring a private guide to take us through all the sites at Vatican City or are the tours that the Vatican provides worthwhile or should we just do it on our own? Will be first trip . Looks like we are going to do a half day tour of the Vatican & an all day tour of sites around Rome both w/a guide. We will
Its duration, the number of people in your group (and the amount of time it took the guide to assemble that group--or was it a private tour)? Just curious Also, I should correct myself: the only one available in late October is limited to the Colosseum itself and doesn't include the Forum and the Palatine Hill
Save Reply. 4. Re: Hiring a tour guide for Rome. Feb 7, 2011, 1:20 PM. THanks - makes sense. We're going to be staying near the central terminals so it probably doesn't make sense for us to get a driver. One last question - is it easy to get a guide on the day you need one or should we reserve one in advance? thanks,. bert.
And once again you get what you pay for. If you see a group tour priced at 25 a person you will probably be herded around in a 40-50 person group and will not have the best experience. You need to find an operation that limits their group size to 6 to 15 people max. It is these operations that also hire the top guides
18 Dec 2017 We saw the major tourist sites on our own but to get a more in-depth understanding of the city, we took a private 3-hour walking tour of Rome with historian and And, remember that tour guides arrange reservations so you do not need to wait in line to enter popular attractions, which is a real time saver.
