In the Yonex racket range, the sign G is used to indicate the size of the racket handle. G3, G4 and G5 are the common sizes for racket handle. G3 means a larger racket handle whereas G5 is the smallest racket handle. Choose the size of the racket handle based on the size of your palm.
Grip Codes Made Simple: G3 = 95mm (large) G4 = 89mm (medium) G5 = 83mm (small) These are for Yonex rackets and are not standard, for many manufacturers it's the opposite way around (size increases with code), so best to research the manufacturer to see what measurements they use.
A majority of racket manufacturers use 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U to indicate the weight of the racket, 1U being the heaviest and 4U the lightest. Jun 23, 2009 These are typically clearly marked on the handles as G2 though to G5. Unforunately, grip size is not yet standardized. So while G2 indicates the smallest grip size for one brand, it can be the largest grip size for another brand. Choose a badminton racquet that feels comfortable in your hand.
