IMACS FORM 04: MANUAL MUSCLE TESTING PROCEDURES. 1 This table provides a preferred order to the testing of muscle groups for manual muscle testing. TESTING POSITIONS. Muscle Groups. Anti-Gravity. Gravity Eliminated. Trapezius. (shoulder elevators). Sitting. Supine. Deltoid middle. (shoulder abductors).
10 Sep 2015 Origin: Apex of coracoid prcess of scapula; Insertion: Medial surface of middle shaft of humerus, opposite deltoid tuberosity; Action: Flexes & adducts the shoulder joint; Nerve: Musculocutaneous, C6–7; Test: Shoulder flexion in lateral rotation with the elbow completely flexed and forearm supinated
28 Aug 2015
Origin: Short head- coracoid process of the scapula. Long head- supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula. Insertion: Tuberosity of the Radius and aponeurosis of the biceps tendon. Nerve Innervation: Musculocutaneous, C5, C6 Manual Muscle Testing Patient position: Hook-seated. Action: Have patient flex elbow to 90 degrees
Shoulder Flexion Movement to 90°: MMT Procedure. Grade FAIR Strength( 3):. ? Pt. sits with elbow slightly flexed. ? Therapist stands behind the pt.'s affected shoulder. One hand is placed over the shoulder to fix the scapula. ? Command: « Pull your arm up in front of you and your palm toward the floor ( to 90°) relax.

18 Jun 2007 POSITION. ORDER OF TESTING. SITTING. Deltoid middle (shoulder abductors) Biceps brachii (elbow flexors) Wrist extensors (extensor carpi ulnaris/radialis) Quadriceps femoris (knee extensors) Ankle dorsiflexors (tibialis anterior) SUPINE. Neck flexors (scalenes, sternocleidomastoid)
Repeat movement & ask client to hold position in the middle of shoulder flexion. Stabilize shoulder girdle while palpating shoulder fexors. Apply gradual resistance at distal humerus. Record grade of resistance placed on the movement based on the MMT Table (above in MMT tab).
PLAY. Trapezius-Upper. Trapezius-Middle and Posterior Deltoid. Trapezius-Lower. Rhomboids. Rhomboids(kendal alternate rhomboid test) Shoulder Flexion(Anterior Deltoid, Supraspinatus, Coracobrachialis) Shoulder Abduction(Middle Deltoid, Supraspinatus) Shoulder Adduction(Latissimus dorsi, Pectoralis, teres major)
