4 Sep 2010 I'm wondering if an SRAM MRX Classic shifter will be OK as a replacement for an SRAM MRX 204-705. Now with 3D interactive instructions you can get a basic set for very little, there is much less to go wrong and cable replacement is much easier, and you will have the full length of the grips to hold.

Does this work? To the best of my knowledge, the MRX is 1:1 pull and the Acera derailleur is 1:2, but I'm finding conflicting info on teh interweb. This combination came stock on my parent's hybrids, but neither the bike shop or my Dad with park tool adjustment instructions in hand can get it working right.
