The North American counter-terrorism force Team America attacks a group of terrorists in Paris. Later, the leader of the organization, Spottswoode, invites the famous Broadway actor Gary Johnston to join his world police and work undercover in Cairo, infiltrating a terrorist organization in the hope they will disclose their plan of destroying the world. Team America destroy the cell of terrorists, but then the Panama Canal is attacked by the criminals as a payback. Gary feels responsible for the death of many innocents and leaves the counter-terrorism organization. When the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il, joins a group of pacifist actors and actresses with the intention of using weapons of massive destruction, Team America tries to avoid the destruction of the world.
A Broadway star, Gary Johnston (voice of Trey Parker), is picked up by the most elite military team ever, Team America. They need him for his acting skills to be a spy on their scheme to stop North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Il (voice of Trey Parker), from controlling the world with many famous actors and actresses, like George Clooney (voice of Matt Stone). From the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, comes an all new way of animation in the form of puppets.

I first watched this film because i found it cheap on DVD at my local ASDA. Thank god i found it because if i hadn't then i would be missing out on a classic.
This film is a must see for fans of south park. I found the humour used to be similar to that used in south park. However as a person who can take or leave south park i feel that if given the chance you should definitely watch this film.
The use of puppets adds to the humour especially when it comes to the sex scene.
The film is obviously aimed at older viewers and contains some material that wouldn't really be suitable for younger viewers.
I gave the film a 7/10 as it will not go down as a classic however i feel that you should try to see this film should you get then chance.
As much as I hate to admit it, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are actually quite talented in a sick twisted, strange, little way. After laughing my butt off during South Park Bigger, Longer & Uncut, I couldn't wait to see this movie. I was not disappointed.
This could be by far the funniest film this year. The plot is easy to follow, as it borrows from most action flicks you see these days, but the way in which it is made is incredible. The fact that these are puppets is enough to make you laugh throughout the entire film. The jokes are funny and don't fall flat. As I was watching the opening, I thought it might run out of steam as it went on. My ticket said it went for almost 2 hours, and I wondered how it would sustain the entire time. It flew. The film is a guilty pleasure.
And parents, before you take your kids to see this, then complain it was disgusting, please read the R Rating! Sit back, relax and watch, but not with coke in your mouth. It will get spit everywhere.
I was amused more or less throughout by the ingeniously designed and executed stunt that is Team America.
Basically the only difference is the sex scene between Gary and Lisa. To obtain an R-Rating the infamous puppet sex scene was done in an over the top fashion and then defused to a slightly less offensive version. The Unrated version features the original sequence and runs approx. 40 seconds longer than the theatrical version. a5c7b9f00b
