22 Nov 2015 I have a good assortment of manual lenses for the old film Nikon f2, and I've have been investigating, that there are only really to Nikon digital backs that will work. The Nikon The D80 and D90 have no aperture follower tab, so you'll have no metering with old manual focus lenses, unless they are chipped
My other dslr is a Pentax for which i have a bunch of excellent old glass which meters well. Now i am new to Nikon and i was wondering if i am able to use older manual lenses such as 50mm etc and still obtain correct exposure. Is there a technique to do this or must i use full manual control if i was to get

I mean like 50mm f/1.4 etc.. i want to get a still camera and a set of lenses which i could use for 35mm adapter seems like canon is not a good All AI and AIS lenses work on the D90 as in they fit and dont cause an error. . I have old nikon lens/manual focus, but I cannot change the aperture blade.
5 Nov 2008 I have used an E series 50mm f1.8 and a 300mm f4.5 AIS. Both completely manual (metering and focus) on the D90. I've used them on a D40 as well which was a bit more challenging on the focus front. For the D90 you need at least an AI lens. The older non AI lenses can damage the camera but are OK on
6 Jan 2010 But, it was unique, and Nikon really didn't launch an Autofocus SLR system until 1986 with the N2000. I'd find out what lenses he has. If they're manual focus, they won't meter on a D90 (you need to move up to the D300 to get metering with MF lenses). If they're not AI lenses, you shouldn't even mount them
20 May 2012 Hi, I have a Nikon D90 and the only lens is the 35 mm f 1.8 g prime. Now I am trying to learn manual focus on the D90 and can do so when when I turn
18 Feb 2013 Dear FriendsI am new to DSLR , I have Nikon D90 with 18-105 lens. Please don't get pissed off for my silly questions. My Q is that can I focus the lens manually when the A-M Switch of lens is in A ( Auto) mode. and AF-M Switch in camera is in AF mode. I am asking this because suppose I want to zoom
25 Sep 2008 For shooting still subjects, just point and shoot at Nikon's default. You don't need to focus and recompose; the D90 has sensors all over. If you prefer to force the D90 to focus with just one specific sensor, go to MENU > Custom Setting Menu > a Autofocus > a1 AF-area mode and select Single Point.
