7 Apr 2009 Has anybody here installed a 6-speed trans from a 4th gen camaro into a 3rd gen? Is this a easy swap or does it require alot of mods to make it fit? So I'm about to start working on my Camaro again, and I want to do a little research on a manual trans swap. I know the factory trans in these cars are a weak link once power is made, and I'm wanting to research all my options. Questions. Is there anything specific that I need to shop for? Is a T10 or Super
There isn't much additional work if you have an automatic transmission originally. The obvious is that you'll need to hang the clutch pedal and cut a hole in the transmission tunnel for the shifter. The clutch pedal can be gotten from any 1984-1997 Camaro/Firebird. You'll also need to mount the master cylinder on the firewall.
6 Jul 2007 There is a 1992 firebird for sale by my house. I know that it is on its second engine and transmission, and it has a 5.7 in it and the transmission is automatic. The car itself is a deal and I'm seriously considering buying it but before hand i would like to know if it is extremely difficult to swap out the automatic
