Book description HabГa escuchado algunas referencias sobre Elizabeth KГјbler-Ross, pero solo hasta ahora leyendo este escrito empiezo a conocer por ella misma, su trabajo, su pensamiento y la existencia de esa peculiar disciplina llamada tanatologГa que intenta estudiar, de manera cientГfica, el fenГіmeno de la muerte.Aunque la muerte es un hecho real que nos afecta a todos, directa e indirectamente, no es un tema frecuente, ni popular en nuestra cultura, siendo incluso un argumento evadido y percibido con rechazo y temor. Incluso para quienes tienen fuertes referencias religiosas, abordar la muerte de otros y mГЎs aГєn, recordar que nosotros mismos llegaremos a ella, es frecuentemente un motivo de conflicto y dolor. Personalmente, me parece fantГЎstico que existan personas e instituciones que de manera cientГfica hallan hecho de este tema su objeto de estudio, no solo desde el punto de vista mГ©dico, sino encarando sin prejuicios, esos extraГ±os fenГіmenos asociados a ella que la sociedad tiende a ignorar o subestimar, por tratarse de cosas incomprensibles, que se salen de nuestro modelo de pensamiento materialista. Como lectora comГєn y no siendo experta en el ГЎrea, no estoy capacitada para evaluar profesionalmente la validez cientГfica de la metodologГa empleada, asГ como tampoco las interpretaciones dadas a los hechos, que en sГ mismos, como fenГіmenos extraordinarios, incomprensibles, pero reales, no tienen discusiГіn. Sin embargo, la profundidad de su pensamiento, sus reflexiones e intuiciones basadas en la experiencia y su modelo, propuesto al mundo como forma nueva, abierta y positiva para enfrentar las enfermedades terminales y la muerte, me parecen un valioso aporte que debemos considerar de manera seria. Leer este libro ha sido solo el comienzo, es un tema que se necesita profundizar, pero si la muerte, como dice Elizabeth KГјbler-Ross se trata sencillamente de abandonar el cuerpo, como la mariposa abandona su capullo de seda, para mudarse a una casa, a una existencia, mГЎs bella entonces, sabrГ© que cuando llegue para otros y para mГ, no tendrГ© nada que temer.
