Crazy Alberto tied right seems to be the best for micro guides just cut the tags flush and only use 10-12 lb leader with 20lb braid. Just don't forget to set the drag fishin a smaller dia. Leader Tried the alberto knot,seems to go through the guides better than a uni to uni. Just not sold on the knot going through

Pretty good at tying a very slim, and. tight Albright/mod. Even so. But the weight difference - to me - was stark. Quite a bit lighter, the micro rods. Like 1

You need to use long enough of a leader so the knot will end up on the reel spool. That is for a casting reel where you are using all micro guides. The knot will pass through the guides. If the knot is located somewhere along the length of the rod, the knot tends to hang up on the guides. It needs enough
26 Jan 2017 I honestly can't figure why I've had no discernible difference in casting distance with an FG knotted leader on normal guides vs. micro guides. The best I can come up with is that even though there's more resistance in getting the knot through the micro guides, the advantage they provide in preventing bows
I'm trying to find a knot that will pass through size 3 and 4 micro guides on a bait caster set up. I have 20lb power pro going to either 20lb or 14lb fluoro leader. I have been using a uni to uni and even tried a loop to loop but the knot always hangs up in the first guide after the tip. Anyone have a good knot to
I got a rod built with micro guides and I love it. These guides seem to improve both distance and accuracy. I will be fishing this rod with heavy cranks and jigs (5/8 or 3/4 oz and above) and typically tying the braid directly to the lure. I would like the option of adding a fluro leader but the ones I've tied on so far

20 Jul 2017 Like most anglers, I've used the same fishing knots for years just having zero doubt that they were the best out there. Well, the FG knot only consisted of a series of braided line wraps squeezing the end of fluorocarbon leader it didn't even double-back the leader line like all Free FG Knot Guide [PDF].
15 Jul 2014 Years of tying a knot gives one the ability to easily tie one in the field and total confidence that each and every knot is good. I currently use a double uni for braid to leader and it looks pretty compact to me.
