God of War is the best game that has ever been made, for any console. I have always loved Greek Mythology, and this game has made me love it even more. The one thing that got on my nerves is that Cerberus, Hades Guard dog, is not a boss, it is my favorite mythological creature, and it was just a normal enemy on the game. The soundtrack is outstanding, one of the best I've ever heard on a game... the game-play... without a doubt the best ever... the controls are so easy and fluid... the game is just the best all around. I have just beaten it, with the help of my brother and my cousin, and it took 11 hours and 15 minutes, on Mortal difficulty. I am going to begin a new file on god mode. Well anyways like i said, this game is just the best no doubt. if you are bored and have nothing to do, i suggest you buy this game, it is a greatest hits now and as you probably already know greatest hits are only twenty dollars...Well I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
This game is fantastic. After a year of owning a PS3, this was the only PS2 game I had gone back to. Finally, in March 08, a year after the release of God Of War II, I bought it. I decided I'd go back and play God of War and then play GOWII over the weekend.
I was blown away again. The first PS2 game I'v played on my new HDTV and it's brilliant. The graphics are brilliant, the sense of scale is incredible, the music is fantastic and the storyline is epic.
I would not hesitate to put this in my Top 5 PS2 games, and I'd even put it in my top three (bettered only by its sequel, and Shadow of the Colossus). I completed God of War after two full days of sitting in the house and playing, and it's fantastic. It's very hard to convey just how strongly I feel about this game.
God of War is brilliant at creating a sense of scale that so many other games have tried and failed to do.
Buy it, buy God of War II, buy a PSP, buy Chains of Olympus, buy a PS3, buy God of War III!
Since the game is pretty violent, it faced some problems for the European release - therefore it had to be censored a little bit. For instance in the sacrifice cutscene the soldier was repleaced by a zombie in the European version and therefore the scene isn't that crude in the European Version. a5c7b9f00b
