In the distant past, a Japanese samurai embarks on a mission to defeat the evil shape-shifting wizard Aku. Before he can complete his task, though, he is catapulted thousands of years into the future. He finds himself in a world where Aku now enjoys complete power over every living thing. Dubbing himself "Jack," he sets out on a new quest--to right the wrongs that have been done by his enemy and to find a way back to his own time so he can destroy the evil for good.
In ancient Japan, the shape shifting wizard known as Aku resurfaces and attacks the nation. When the emperor is captured, his son is sent to train throughout the world in many forms of discipline and combat. As an adult, he reunites with his mother, who gives him the sacred sword capable of defeating Aku. When the samurai returns home to face the wizard, he is sent through time into the distant future, where Aku still rules over a world filled with high technology, aliens, and other oddities that the samurai doesn't understand. Taking on the name Jack, the samurai makes a name for himself as he struggles to free the future from Aku's grasp, and one day return to his own time to stop Aku before this future comes to pass.
Genndy must have loved Samurai Jack. This is the best cartoon I have ever seen throughout my life. I used to watch cartoon network in my childhood. I had a chance only to get a glimpse of SJ at early morning. I liked SJ very much, though not knowing much about him. If CN had shown SJ without cutting into bits and at a watchable time, this series would have been a greatest hit. I was interested in CN in my childhood, but now as a young adult, I like only SJ in cartoons. I despise my beloved CN for not telecasting completely the SJ series. My hats off for Samurai Jack, the "most of the times" realistic cartoon. My cousins(children,3) too loved this.
this shoe and the Justice League ARE the greatest animated shows ever, and you could probably debate back and forth all year long which one is better, and still not get anywhere. To sum up Samurai Jack, it is basically 20 minutes of action each episode. The creator,Genndy Tartakovfsy, came up with the idea when he discovered that almost every show on TV is as boring as crap. I 100% agree with him. TV shows are boring pieces of crap (they are now anyways). Samurai Jack made action cooler than cool. Don't look the other way because of the animation, not all cartoons are four 2 year olds! cant wait for the movie in 2011!!! go watch the episodes online, or buy the series, because your life will be better after you do!
Jack's real, birth name is never revealed. In the second Pilot episode he decides to name himself with this alternate name after a group of young men got impressed by his actions. No, though the appearance of Samurai Jack himself is believably based on the Professors design from PPG. But they don't share anything related or common things in any ways.The series is left open to interpretation. However, in the series, Jack finds a stable portal through time before he is defeated by the guardian. It is implied that Jack will return to the past one day as the portal shows his older, bearded self wearing a crown. The guardian states that it is not yet time for him to use the portal.
On December, 2, 2015, Adult Swim announced that the show would be airing a new season on its Toonami programming block in March 11, 2017. The series is once again being produced at Cartoon Network Studios with Tartakovsky as executive producer. This new season shows the continuous journey of Jack taking place 50 years since the last episode of Season 4 in a ten episode event. a5c7b9f00b
