A team of five teenaged superheroes save the world from many villains around their city while experiencing things normal teens face today.
In a major city, Robin the Boy Wonder leads his own team of superheroes, The Teen Titans. With his teammates, the dark Raven, the powerful Cyborg, the flighty alien princess Starfire and the flippant Beast Boy; the team battles the forces of evil where ever they appear like the enigmatic Slade, the diabolical Brother Blood or the malevolently cosmic Trigon.
I grew up with DC comics, Teen Titans, reading every issue I could buy. I was ecstatic they where bringing my favorite comic book to the small screen. But what I didn't know, was that they where going to turn the show into a teeny bopper, sugar charged piece of crap. But you might be saying "But Zen444! Wasn't the comic designed for children?!" Actually, no. The comics dealt with very adult and mature things.(Rape no less.) But this show is so embarrassing to watch.
Starting off not so well, is quite possibly the most annoying intro themes, EVER! The characters in the show, look nothing like the characters in the comic, they look more like prepubescent kids, then teenagers.
The only characters they bastardized to the extreme where Starfire and Beastboy. Beastboy's name was Changeling and he wasn't an idiot. Starfire had exceptionally long hair and she was powered by the sun, also, Starfire is somehow retarded in this show. Yet her freaking sister can speak perfect English!
I do have to bring up, Starfire and Raven have great figures for 11-13 year old girls. Yeah, that's disturbing.
The animation is somewhat Gorillaz and somewhat anime. A combination, no one ever wants to see... ever.
And of course, the pilot episode, has to be the biggest turn off in history.
I have to give the show it's dues for having both Ron Perlman and Malcolm McDowell as Slade and Mad Mod. Respectively.
But for the story, it's somewhat dubious since it never is coherent and just drops a plot right then and there hoping for the show to progress.
Teen Titans is the latest in a long line of animated cartoons based on DC's comics. However, unlike Batman, Superman, and Justice League, Teen Titans takes a quite different approach to the DCAU formula. For one, the series is animated in a pseudo-anime style. Two, the series is a bit more kid-friendly, as opposed to the slightly more adult-oriented Batman and Superman and Justice League, which were about 50/50 on the adults-kids scale(although JL is on in prime time). And given, that means there are plenty of episodes that will just go through crazy style humor, such as one episode where a dimension-altering Bat-Mite-esque character cause the Titan's world to go Looney-Tunes style screwy, a few episodes with insane fashion designer Mad Mod(Malcom McDowel, who also did voices on Batman and Superman) which contain jokes to everything from the Beatles to Scooby-Doo to Monty Python, and finally a madcap magician named Mumbo who in one episode turns the Titans into cute and cuddly animals(and Beast Boy into a lamp). However, there is also a good amount of depth and drama which can still have a 19-year old like me tune in, most notably the main plots of each season, such as Robin's obsession with Slade(Ron Perlman, who apparently has to do a voice on every DC-based show, though that isn't a bad thing), and the Titan's encounter with Terra, a young girl who can't control her earth-based powers and makes a fateful decision based on that. The characters themselves are really likable, from Robin and his constant battle for good, which can lead to sometimes making some nasty choices(Masks comes to mind), as well as his Holmes-Moriarty style rivalry with Slade, Beast Boy, the prankster yet overall good guy, Starfire, the cute alien girl who's learning about Earth, to Cyborg, the hi-tech guy who also has to deal with being cybernetic, and overcoming it. My favorite of the group, as are many others, is Raven though. Throughout the show's four seasons we have really see her grow in character, as well as with her teammates. If there is one role Tara Strong will be remembered for, I feel it will be Raven, not Rikku, Batgirl, Dil, or even Bubbles, as she has Raven down perfectly. Speaking of Raven, the new arc involves her possibly destroying the world, in a creepy episode titled Birthmark which really gives the series a much darker edge than anything it's had yet. If you're not watching the show because of its "kiddy image" I suggest giving it another chance. Hopefully you'll be glad you did.
However in the Teen Titans Go! Book Number 51- It is highly suggested that the girl in the academy truly is Terra- yet still leaving it up to the reader. TEEN TITANS THEME

Teen Titans GO!/Teen Titans GO!/One, two, three, four, GO!--Teen Titans! Yes. Cartoon Network originally ordered 20 episodes for the fifth season of Teen Titans (intended to be the final season). The order was eventually scaled back to 13 episodes (the same as the previous four seasons). The plans for the seven, unproduced episodes included Slade returning and taking over the Brotherhood of Evil and setting up a possible continuation or rebranding of the series. a5c7b9f00b
