25 Mar 2015 The transmission fluid you can use what you want but I do suggest using the MTF LT-2 that it takes but I know how expensive it is. If your M3 has a manual not the DCT then BMW states the fluid needs to be changed every 3rd oil change the DCT's do not get serviced. BMW CCA TSA 06 BMW 330I 01 BMW

Is there a DIY guide to changing the 6MT transmission fluid on the F8X? . Drives: 2016 SO M3. Join Date: May 2009. Location: NY. iTrader: (0). I wonder why BMW requires the 6MT fluid change on the M5 and M6, but not the other M cars. Does the M3/M4 use the same transmission as the M5 and M6?
BMW E90/E92 M3: Changing Manual Transmission Fluid. The M3 manual transmission has a cooler that requires the BMW computer to cycle on/off to completely extract old fluid and take in new fluid. I plan to change it often enough that I can change it just like any other BMW 6 speed and not worry about the small amount

This install takes 20 - 30 minutes of actual work and a bit of time to allow the old fluid to drain. jack stands (see how to jack up the car here); Socket wrench; 8mm socket; 17mm socket; Torque wrench (with a range of 50ft lb +); Breaker Bar; Gear Oil or Siphon pump; Drain pan (oil drain pan works great); A BMW M3 (E46).
One of the easiest tasks to perform on your BMW is to change the transmission or differential oil, but just in case you need a bit of guidance, be sure to read this article first.
DIY: 6MT Transmission Oil Change. ***It's important to note, this method of fluid change does not remove all of the transmission oil since some oil is left in the transmission cooler. . no way unless u bring it to BMW, the DIS tester cost 1.5k+ and thats the cheapest and not even sure that tester will work.
