Lexicon MPX550 dual effects processor (angled view). One such was the Lexicon MPX500, which has just been replaced by the MPX550, offering more user memories, more effect algorithms and new dynamics processing. . The sound of the MPX550 is significantly better than the budget MPX100 and its direct offspring.

The MPX 550 is a true-stereo, 24-bit Lexicon reverb / effects unit with balanced inputs & outputs. It's an updated version of the MPX 500, with more user memories, more effects algorithms and a new dynamics setup. It's a big step up from the likes of the MPX 100 & MPX 110 with many more programs, a lot more flexibility and

I downloaded the manual for the G major and all the pictured setups indicate plugging into a preamp first (my guitar amp does not have an effects loop). Do both of these units require a preamp, or can you simply plug your
4 user reviews on Lexicon MPX-100. I don't have a manual for the Lexicon MPX-100, but it is easy enough to use that you shouldn't need one. In relation to the MPX-550, which is more studio-oriented, the MPX-100 is more adequate for live applications where you need to be able to adjust the parameters quickly (that's
