There was a time when I felt happy
Then all that made me happy walked away
And I was left to stand by myself in the darkness without my friend
I stood alone for a year to come, breaking down inside, wanting to die
I kept the smile on my face to keep up the charade
Soon I had to wait no longer, there was a shadow far away that talked to me and called my name
I went to meet it but it backed away, staying far away
One day I fell backwards, towards the hard concrete ground
I was caught just in time
The shadow was gone from the distance, nowhere to be seen
Once again the shadow called my name
But I couldn´t see it, it weren´t in the distance like yesterday
something pulled me to my feet, hugged me and then left again
All the sudden there was light and my friend was back at my side
