After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles are needed more than ever, but Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become lost and direction less. Leonardo has gone to Central America, on the orders of the martial arts master and father figure Master Splinter, for training. Donatello and Michelangelo have started small businesses in Leonardo's absence. Meanwhile, strange things are happening in New York City. An army of ancient creatures threatens to take over the world and the Turtles must unite again to save it.
Strange events are occurring in New York City, and the Turtles are needed more than ever, but Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become lost and directionless. With the city at stake, it's up to Leonardo and Zen Master Splinter to restore unity and ninja discipline to the Turtles.
I have been a big Turtle fan since the beginning, even though I was but a wee lad at the time. The idea of over-sized turtles learning the art of Ninjitsu from an over-sized rat in a sewer is...well...genius! The first and second movies were awesome, and for the first animated movie of the series this one is wonderfully exciting! It has all the elements of the past; comedy, action, darkness, brotherhood, and TURTLES KICKING ASS! From the beginning until the end, it exceeded my expectations starting with the graphics. At some points it literally looked REAL while at others i sat in awe at how beautifully designed the atmosphere was. The action was as good as the live-action movies and better than the newer cartoon series recently seen on t.v. The story was decent, but at times I didn't care about the bad guys and I just wanted to see more of the Turtles! The fighting scenes are worth not blinking for! All in all I cannot wait until they make a sequel!
What I thought about TMNT the movie was that it was an alright movie but it wasn't like the program which i thought was a bummer. Anyway the director or who ever made the turtles made their eyes very small and the program was never like that they never had very small eyes. But I still thought it was an excellent movie and for that I'm giving this movie a 6.0 out of 10. Anyway I liked the part when the TMNT were going to find trouble when they shouldn't have and then they found this monster and it was a cool fight scene. Well to finish off my review i will say this TMNT isn't the best movie but it's watchable and for that I think it's a good movie and I'm sure many others out in the world will think the same.
That's really what TMNT lacks most -- humor. Despite the doll-like cartoonishness of the human figures, the filmmakers seem to expect us to take this animated romp seriously. Too seriously.
