In fact, someone asked if teh car is digital on the page and Hornby told them "no". The advanced power base and the upcoming arc pro both run digital and analog. Suggest I too bought a D Type encouraged that the box said DPRbut as pointed out it's not unless DPR in this case means surgery to install C7005 chip!

They are DPR (Digital Plug Ready) which means they are ready to receive a chip for use on a Scalextric Digital circuit.So, you've purchased chip you don't need? I certainly wish the prices were lower, but I'm a big fan of the DPR system, and how easy it is to convert their analog cars to digital, and back again, as needed.
