Have you ever seen a book about leadership that you think would be interesting if you only had the time and motivation to read it?
A few years ago one of my performance appraisal goals was to read a minimum of 4 books on Leadership during the year. My boss thought there would be other people in the office that would be interested in reading and discussing books that relate to our work in the office. I sent out an office wide email and our reading group was formed.

There are a lot of good reasons to start a reading group to talk about leadership. Hearing differing points of view and learning from the experiences of others is one of the best parts of a reading group. One of the benefits that we weren’t expecting was that the members of the reading group got to know each other outside the day to day tasks that we worked on together. Since we knew each other better on an informal basis it helped our understanding of each other on work tasks as well.

There are many different views on what makes a great leader. There are a lot of books available that address leadership, what makes a good leader and how to develop leadership. This book provides a guideline for establishing a group to read and discuss some of these books.
