Eddie enlists the help of British Interpol agent Nicole to determine the secret of the medallion and face down the evil Snakehead who wants to use its magical powers for his own nefarious plans.
I love jackie Chan movies i've been a fan since i frist saw Meals On Wheels long time ago. And i thought the two rush hours where good and also Shagia Noon and Knights had there moments even the tuxido was fun because it was ok to use visual effects because it was short of a superhero flic.... but this is so bad........ i cant beleave i wasted my time watching it. To start with Lee Evans is so bad i wanted to cry when i saw him, this should be shown to actors so they can learn how not to be funny... The plot... What plot? Jackie is himself but i imagine he did this for the paycheck and for the hope that he would do a bit more acting but come Jackie dont sell urself like a cheap comic your better then this crap!!!! i never saw the day i would give a jackie chan movie 1/10 but this is it.
This movie holds the record of being the only movie that I have EVER bothered to walk out of. Normally I stay till the end to get my $9 worth. But this I didn't. I can't remember the plot, not because it has been so long but because it was so generic it's blended in with every other badly-acted no-plot blockbuster I've ever seen. It's formulaic, with bad special effects and the flattest jokes I have ever seen. Not even Jackie Chan's amazing feats could save it from utter disaster. Unfortunately for the makers of this catastrophe, it is not even bad enough to be worth seeing (as, say, Plan 9 from Outer Space). Avoid at all costs...

Since the stunts are sub-par and feature considerable computer help, the movie gives the impression that it's trying too hard to be campy and silly.
The working title of the film was "Highbinders". In the original plot of the film, those who were given power by the medallion became a Highbinder. Snakehead's original goal in the film was to create an army of Highbinders to join in his crime organization.
According to the commentary by the editors, "The Medallion" was not American-made, although Columbia-TriStar bought the distribution and editing rights worldwide except in Japan, France, and Hong Kong (but these three countries retain the American cut of the film, the only cut ever made). The original cut was meant to be around 108 minutes, and the plot of the film explained Snakehead's crime organization of human smuggling, and the deaths that occurred from it, as well as his desire to create an army of Highbinders to aide his crime organization.
