As usual with this series, the "team" consists of four people who are equally ignorant of history, military strategy and the game mechanics of the Total War series. To top it off, despite being co-workers in real life, they seem to have no idea how to communicate. Having seen several eps of this series, all of these factors are par for the course.

What isn't standard is the poor scholarship on display. Spartacus didn't have 70,000 men at the Silarus River to Crassus' 44,000. Although both figures are exaggerated, Spartacus was probably the one who was outnumbered. More likely numbers are 10-20,000 Servile rebels versus 30-40,000 Roman professionals.

Also the ep depicts the Servile army as a weird miscellany of assorted troop types. This is unlikely: after almost three years of war in which they'd overwhelmed several Roman armies, the majority of the rebels were equipped with captured Roman armor and weapons. From a distance, they would have looked just like Roman troops.
