He had suspected that people would have called on the ad, weren't they just like him, in need of someone to share an apartment? Share the rent? In a nice apartment with separate rooms, a spacey living room and a big airy kitchen. Who wouldn't want that?
Apparently no one, Sasha sighed as he lay limp over the table top in the living room, books spread around him along with empty cups that once contained coffee, tea and different kinds of sodas. It had been a long night for him, a long night trying to finish off his very first big essay. And now, with all the caffeine and sugar out of his system, he felt as this was the only thing he could do.
...lay sprawled out over the table that is.
So of course, when he was on the verge of falling asleep, someone just had to ring the doorbell.
Sasha groaned into the table and ignored the bell, hoping that whoever was outside would leave. But he had no such luck as it soon rang again, and continued for a good five seconds. There was no way the person would go away, and even if he didn't answer, it wasn't very cold outside so the one outside could just sit and wait. Besides, it was better to get this whole thing over with.
Opening the door, Sasha was met with a black clad back and the smell of cigarettes. Mixed with a faint smell of lemon. He glanced at the person that still didn't seemed to have noticed him and cleared his throat. The person was another man, roughly his age, with dark blue eyes and soft brown hair. He was smiling at him around the cigarette that hung limply between his lips, ashes slowly falling to the ground.
"Yes, can I help you?"
"Ah, 'es. I saw youl ad in the papel, and I want see if loom is 'till flee."
What? "What?"

![There were days, like this one, when he just wished that he was back in the hectic lifestyle he had left back in Tokyo. This place was nothing like wandering the streets in the middle of the night and look at all the different personalities that showed up when you least expected it. Back then, despite everything that was going on around him, that was who he really was.
Now, he didn't exactly know who he was. He wasn't Aki anymore, the Aki that during the day helped the younger kids with their homework and later, at night, gathered money in any way necessary, be it stealing or selling himself. But after the... 'incident', he didn't even know if his gang still existed. If his brother was still alive.
Despite living together, he hadn't told Sasha anything. He was sure that the other had lots of questions, but after the first few days without any answers, in fact, he had even locked himself in his own room when Sasha couldn't stop the questions from coming. So now they lived together with Sasha not asking too many questions and him not sticking his nose into his roommate's private life. It was a challenge, he was curious by nature but it was their deal.
Maybe... Just maybe could he dare call back and ask around for his brother. It was risky, he knew that the big organisation whose leader he helped taking down could track him and put both him and Sasha in danger, but it was worth it. Wasn't it? Just to know if his brother was well and alive. And if he wasn't... Then he didn't have to live without knowing.
It was just a call. And he would do it. Because if he didn't, that would be proof that he was losing himself, losing Aki and Nanashi and losing his dignity. Then he wouldn't be much better then the dirt under his shoes.
And he was nothing but. He was simply amazing.

![He always confuses me so. The way he goes from being such a carefree persona that draws people in, that makes them want to get to know him, to suddenly turn into a person that shies away from your touch. When he first came asking me about the ad I had put up in the paper I didn't hesitate to accept his offer. And even to this day, I don't regret letting him become my roommate. He is an absolutely fantastic person, even after I got to learn some of his more darker secrets.
For me, Nanashi is just a very confused person that doesn't know what he wants to do. He is actually very smart for someone that didn't have the time or the money to study, but I suspects that he reads more then he let on. And of course that he has snapped up a lot during the time on the streets. He has taught me a lot, for which I will always be grateful to him.
But then there are times when he can be the most childish person I know. The way he suddenly can burst into my room in just a pair of underwear, pink panties on his head and a towel tied around his neck and exclaim that 'I am captain Panty-kun! I will save you from celibacy!', followed by simply picking me up and throw me out into the hallway of our apartment complex. Sometimes I wonder if he really is older then me with the way he acts. But who cares? He sure makes life just a little bit colourful.
I think that there is much going on in his head. I don't know what he want, but I don't think he knows either. If he would just let me, I would help him. But until he comes to me and asks me for help, I'll just stay in the shadows and make sure he doesn't fall. And if he does, I will be there to catch him. Just like friends should.

![[det här är inte direkt relaterat till det andra som jag skrivit, utan ska egentligen utspelas ganska mycket längre fram i deras liv som rumskamrater. men jag behövde få ur det, så hoppas nu inte har något emot lite Sasha musings.]
There are times when he caught himself wishing there was something more to his life. Not that it was boring, definitely not. After Nanashi had moved in, there always seemed to be something going on. The other guy never let him have a day off and he was constantly all over him. All in a friendly manner, of course, especially after Sasha had told him off that there was... Well, there was someone. Nanashi had for a moment just stopped before grinning widely and began pestering him with questions about who the lucky one was.
...that guy could be so very annoying when he put his mind into it.
But having Nanashi close also reminded Sasha of what he didn’t have close. And that was what irked him. Because having the Japanese around constantly reminded him of who wasn’t there to keep him company in the darkest nights, to comfort him whenever the school just became too much and those times when Nanashi just went a tad too far.
At times, Sasha caught himself trying to find someone else’s body heat lingering in his bed as he smoothed out the linens on his bed.
And there were times when having Nanashi around wasn’t that bad. Like the times when he needed to be held because he missed his other half to the edge of crying, when the tears got stuck in his throat as he tried to keep his appearance up or when the nights got too lonely. The other man seemed to sense his distress and just moved over to make place for Sasha as he crawled up and whispered soothing words until the younger fell asleep. Those times, Sasha was very happy that he had him there.
Of course, those times only lasted until morning when Nanashi lay opposite of him, grinning, and asking whether or not he would get his ‘good morning nookie’ now. The first week of being roommates had gone surprisingly well. Of course, it could have been worse if Nanashi actually came out of his room every now and then.
Looking over to the closed bedroom door, Sasha sighed and turned back to the dinner he was preparing. It was always like this, the only time the other ever came out was to eat and go to the bathroom. And the rest of the time he spent in his room, what he did there, Sasha didn't know.
Stirring the contents in the pan, he didn't notice a door opening slowly and a figure sneaking up behind him. The figure seemed to wait until the other wasn't doing anything that could risk him getting hurt before throwing his arms around him. Sasha yelped and dropped the ladle.
"Surprise!" Nanashi exclaimed and hugged the other boy tightly, before resting his chin on his shoulder and looked at what was cooking on the stove. "...is that stir fry? Sasha, didn't I tell you?"
Turning around slightly, the younger looked up with a slightly worried look. Had he forgotten about some allergy? Didn't he like stir fry? "...what? You... don't like it?"
Sasha watched the slight pout on the other's face with worry, but saw it transform slowly into a wide grin. Nanashi hugged him tighter as he leaned in close to the boy's ear, whispering, "absolutely not."
"Then wha-"
"I love it. It's my favourite! How did you know?" he asked as he reached forward and snatched a vegetable from the pan while Sasha was still a bit too stunned to realise what he had just done. He munched on it as he saw realisation slowly dawn on the younger boy.
"Nanashi! You shouldn't trick people like that!" Sasha scolded him as he stepped away from the Japanese boy and bent down to pick up the ladle. Taking the opportunity, Nanashi slapped the other's butt and laughed manically as the Russian boy began chasing him around in the apartment while yelling profanities in his native language. The only reason he stopped was because he needed to check on the food.
Sitting at the table, Nanashi was still laughing quietly at Sasha that was still a bit flushed. But despite that little episode, the dinner went by without any more incidents unless you count in the part where Sasha managed to get his water in the wrong throat because a certain Japanese decided it was a good idea to play footsie with him.
He was just about to drop off his dishes in the sink when Sasha reached over and grabbed his forearm, stopping him in his track.
"Yes?"
"...is there a reason why you only come out when it's time to eat? Or to go to the bathroom?" Sasha asked quietly, refusing to meet the older one's eyes. "I mean, you do like me, right? Or you would've moved out..."
Nanashi was looking at the other, a bit surprised at his questions. He really hadn't taken him to be so straight-forward with him. Putting down his plate and utensils on the table again, he sat down.

Nanashi toed his shoes off as he returned to the apartment he shared with Sasha. Their relation seemed to be getting better, especially after he had told the younger boy that he would tell him everything as time went by. He was still not comfortable with telling him anything just yet, but he had begun to be around more often and not stay coped up in his room. And he had begun venturing out in the small city, exploring all the things that he could do there.
Today, while Sasha had been in school, he had been out and bought the other a small gift for taking him in and being such a kind host. It wasn't a big thing, but it was something that he hoped he would appreciate.
"Sasha! I'm home~!" he called out as he hung up his jacket. Nanashi looked towards the living room when he didn't receive an answer. "Sasha?"
He grabbed the bags from the floor and walked into the living room, finding it empty. The Japanese frowned and looked into the kitchen, but it was deserted as well. Looking into Sasha's room, he found him sitting on his bed, back against the door and looking down at a piece of paper. Nanashi sighed quietly as he put down his bags, picking up the little present and went over to the bed.

![[och härmed så avslutar jag hela relationen mellan Nanashi och Sasha. eftersom Sasha såldes, och jag inte har några planer på att ta hem honom igen, så ville jag på något sätt avsluta hela deras historia. här är den, och jag hoppas någon är intresserad nog att läsa.]
Nanashi had promised to return as fast as he possibly could, that he would be gone two weeks. Tops. Not that he believed Sasha would kick him out or anything, but he wanted to be sure to have a place to return to when he came back from Tokyo.
He had gotten a letter from his brother back in Japan, and the fact that he even had found him was startling. Ever since he left them a few months ago he had been careful not to leave any traces behind him, been so very sure that nobody could trace his existence. But at the same time, he was happy that the letter had reached him.
Sasha had been curious as to his sudden change in mood, he could tell by the way the younger boy constantly glanced over at him when he thought he weren't watching. But he wouldn't say anything, because letting him know would put him in danger and that was just something he couldn't accept. So he just said that something had happened back in Tokyo that he needed to attend to.
"But when I get back, Sasha, I'll tell you everything. Is that okay?"
The younger boy had reluctantly nodded and helped him fix the tickets and helped him pack, and the next day, he woke up early to wave him off, despite having been up half the night to study for some important test the day after.
And now he was back, a little later then expected. The situation didn't really require his help, at all, but it was apparently sped up by his presence. But being back brought up memories he rather forget, so after saying a proper good bye to his brother, he got on the plane and returned, a week later then planned. He was sure that Sasha would understand after he had explained his entire situation.
...so why was he so scared to go inside?
"Shit, come on, Aki," he muttered to himself and picked up his bag from the ground where he had dropped it. "Just get over it, you've done scarier things."
But those things never involved the risk of disappointing people he cared about.
He took a deep breath and unlocked the door and stepped in, toed off his shoes and walked into their shared apartment.
"Sasha! I'm home," he called out and enjoyed the feeling of calling this place home, because that was what it had to be. The place he would return to and be welcomed back to. At least he hoped that would be the case.
He had dropped his bag outside his room and stopped. And listened. It was so quiet in the apartment, maybe Sasha had gone out? Nanashi shook his head, of course he weren't out, it was about this time that he would be up and do breakfast for them both. Maybe he was still asleep? His door was still shut, so that option wasn't impossible. He could have worked the evening before, yes, that must be it. And therefore, he could wait.
But when Sasha still hadn't woken up after two more hours, he wondered if maybe he really was out. Nanashi didn't really want to wait for him, so he got up and grabbed the phone, pushed in his number and waited for the signal to come through.
He looked up when he heard Sasha's phone ring faintly from somewhere inside the apartment. Getting up, he began to wander around to see if he could find it, meanwhile muttering 'pick up, pick up, pick up'. However, it all lead up to the other's bedroom door. The phone hadn't stopped ringing once, and a worry had begun gnawing at his insides.
Pushing the door open, Nanashi watched it slid open soundlessly and revealing a pristine room. Like it always was.
